A must for the bird hunterNov 10, 2008
By P. L. I bought these to replace a pair of Cabelas brand shears. Those shears did not come apart and the pivot nut kept coming lose, making it difficult to cut off the wings and feet of the birds we shoot.
Right away I was impressed with these shears. We just went through cleaning 41 pheasants last week, cutting off wings, legs & heads, then cutting out the backbone, and we had absolutely no problems. These shears made quick work of the job of cleaning the birds so we could get on with enjoying the rest of the evening. I highly recommend them.

Take-apart Kitchen ScissorsAug 01, 2011
By John S. Finch These scissors are nice to have around when cutting up herbs, cutting string or any other cutting job. They come apart for easy cleaning and are sometimes a puzzle to put back together but that is just some of the fun.

Every home needs these!May 14, 2011
By two pates These shears are a must in our kitchen anymore. We use on all meats - great on quail, pheasant and I can cut up a chicken however I want to grill - halves, quarters, piece by piece with very little effort. They come apart and can wash in dishwasher....would never be without a pair again.

Squirrel CleanerSep 26, 2010
By Budman I use these shears for cleaning squirrels. They are very much up to the task. Once you've got the hide pulled, they make quick work for cutting off the feet and head and then gutting the squirrels and doing any trimming if necessary. They're also good for cleaning small rabbits, but for larger ones you need a heavier duty set of shears. The take apart feature is great for quick cleanup. Very good product.
Great Scissors/ShearsJan 08, 2012
By Bighoss I feed my dog raw chicken, duck and turkey so I need a good pair of shears to cut them up. These Gerber's are the best I've found for cutting both the skin and the bone. The last pair I bought at
Cabela's but apparently they stopped carrying them. Too bad, I tried another brand that had "straight" handles but when your hands get wet from the meat you can't grip the shears. I highly recommend them.
