5great boot dryerJan 23, 2009
By Jeffrey A. Lohmann "house324"
I have had this dryer for about three weeks . We use it for drying ski boots and gloves. The gentle heat setting is fast but perfectly safe for drying our high end ski boots and gloves. Some people are concerned about using heat on their boots with heat moldable liners and custom orthotics, but the heat is very mild (est 100 degs). On a recent week long ski trip, we used it every evening to dry all of our boots in our hotel room without any annoying noise- It's barely louder than a room fan

I also recommend buying the glove attachment for glove drying.

** Update - I have now had this dryer for two long seasons of skiing several days a week. Everything is still working great. I even travel with it; it's a bit bulky, but worth the hassle. My family originally made fun of it, but that quickly stopped as soon as they realized how great it is to have dry gear every morning. in addition to drying out your stuff, It really helps to keep your gear from smelling funky throughout the season.

**Update #2- Another long season and still going strong. No Cons

**Update #3 - One more long ski season and still going strong.

4Does what it says it will do, but at the low price point for a few reasons.Sep 08, 2009
By Tom P
I bought this to dry my motocross boots and family shoes after washing. It does exactly what it says it will do and dries boots and shoes quickly. It was also very inexpensive, so that is needs to be recognized for my following comments, which might make it cost more and thereby less attractive:

1 - This is intented to dry four items. If you are only drying one pair of shoes, the air is still going out the unused chambers. My assumption is that it slows overall drying time because air will flow toward the path of least resistance. Suggestion - have a way to close the usused dryers. I simply took the boot attchments off and covered with a book.

2 - The product doesn't seem extremely sturdy. For keeping it in the house, this is probably fine, but I am going to take it with me on motorcyle weekend trips. I am concerned with it being packed up and moved w/out getting broken.

Again, if they added features and made it out of far sturdier materials, it might impact the price point. As long as it holds up with a little care in handling, I am hoping this lasts for years to come. My current approach after the first day of off-road trail riding on my dirt bike was to wrap my feet in garbage bags inside the boot to keep them dry. There is no way soaked boots dry overnight on their own.

4Essential for Seattle wintersNov 27, 2009
By John E. Vidale "conventional Earth scientist"
This 4-shoe dryer (and the 2-shoe dryer from Peet that I bought earlier this year) are so useful that I now can't imagine doing without them. Wet shoes just take an hour or two to dry, rather than moldering in the closet.

The four-shoer includes both a fan and a timer that are not included with the two-shoe unit, which works solely by convection.

I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars because the fan is somewhat noisy and it takes some space. Also, for drying just two shoes, it is best to cover the other two vents - a better design would have had a vent to close or a pair of covers.

I got another for a Christmas present for my sister to share the discovery, and wished she already had it after stomping through her cranberry bog.

4Peet boot dryerApr 07, 2011

This is a great item to have if you live where there is snow! I ordered the boot dryer with the glove attachment and extensions. I feel the price was right for the quality of the product. It dries our boots great and does get the smell out as well - bonus! I like the choice of using heat or just air as well.

The extensions work great to have one pair of kid's snow boots on the dryer and my husbands shoes (size 12-13) on the extensions. The glove attachment is also nice to get the fingers all dry after playing in the snow.

One thing to watch though - We normally unplug the unit after use however, one time I did not. I had ours plugged in in an area close to the family room where we sit. The power went out in the house and when it came back on, the boot dryer turned on and was set to run for 100 minutes. So, if you keep it in an area you are not often close to, I would advise to unplug after use.
