Ultimate Compact SawAug 20, 2010
By earnan I've found that the small saws found on pocket knives and folding saws are a bit too short to cut anything larger then a limb which you could easily just snap so they just don't get used much. This saw is the same size as a normal limbing saw but packs down to the size of a carton of eggs. It's a bit too heavy to take backpacking but works perfect if you want something small to carry when doing short hikes.
The saw comes with three blades. I use the roll out chain saw blade the most. After tightening the wingnut the saw is very stable and cuts efficiently. With two people working on it you can saw logs pretty quickly.
I've seen the other pack down saws on the market. This one is by far the best one I have used. The other saws seem to have pointy bits sticking out when stowed which makes them dangerous to carry or they are short when fully extended.

Good for a day hike to a particular site, too heavy for trail hiking.Feb 14, 2011
By Richard Collette If you're going to hike in and spend some time at a particular place, then this saw is a very nice tool. For trail hiking though, it weighs too much to take along.

Cool SawJul 15, 2007
By B. Brough I got this for my husband and he really liked it. It folds up so nice and is easy to put together. We would like to get a longer wood saw if they sell them though.
Packs down VERY Small!Dec 27, 2010
By Mickael After using my bother in law's Gator III saw on a back packing trip I knew I had to have one. It is easy to put together and works amazingly well. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient saw to take camping. If you are a light weight back packer it should be noted that this saw is on the heavy side.
