solid, attractive shelterJun 07, 2009

I used this unit ten days straight, subjecting it to windy rainstorms and late-May Florida bugs and heat and it performed nicely. With the exception of one seam leak, the unit was reliably protective and sturdy. One of my camping neighbors even asked me where he could get one like it.

Good screen house, sub-standard tie-down ropeOct 26, 2009
By J. Keyes We have been very pleased with our screen house. It has withstood some pretty good rain storms so far.
The first of two suggestions I'd make would be to be prepared to replace all the tie-down rope. The rope that came with the screen house just disintegrated within the first two months (August and September) of it being up. We would see wear and then just watch it snap or fall apart in our hands. We went out and bought new 1/8" nylon rope (higher quality, larger diamter) to replace it. My second suggestion would be to get some "door-draft snakes" or other weighted objects to hold the flaps down. The bottom edge has a flap that rests on the ground or grass to prevent bugs, especially flying ones from sneaking inside under the bottom edge of the screens. We've found that they could stand to be weighted down to ensure the wind doesn't just lift the side and welcome the bugs in. Staking each side at it's mid-point also helped with this just didn't completely solve the problem. Some scrap fabric and small pebble-like rock from the local home-improvement store has been a decent solution for us.
Overall we are quite happy with the new addition to our back yard.

Well worth the moneyJun 30, 2009

I had no problems setting this up the very first time. Quality is good. I believe this screened room is well worth the money. We put it over the grandkids swimming pool so the bugs wouldn't bother them, love to spoil the kids.

incorrect product description re. fine "no see um" meshJun 26, 2009
By Bird Detective The product description of this screen arbor reads "fine mesh to screen out insects as small as no-see-ums" and I bought it specifically for that reason. However the mesh is not fine with holes of about 1 x 2 mm. This will keep out mosquitoes, but not "no-see-um" sandflies or black flies. Otherwise a well built screen tent.

great additionJul 10, 2010

We try to camp at least 4-6 times a year at various sites throughout Northern Michigan. There are at least 2 couples and sometimes more. This screen arbor has been a great addition to the campsites. It is used for a kitchen, card room, and picked up and moved with ease to the edge of a cliff overlooking a beautiful sunset on Lake Michigan. As for problems with wind, I guess its all in your approach. If anchored properly, it stays put. Very good purchase!!
