Snap Caps Dry Out?Mar 13, 2009
By Jon Purchased a set of snap caps a year ago and tried them out. They seemed to work well. Did not use them for almost a year, and when I dry fired with them a year after opening the package they were splintering and coming apart. Close examination indicates they may have dried out and became bittle. I stored them in a plastic bag in original packaging.

once and doneMar 04, 2010
By Greg If you are using these in a semi-automatic figure on using them one time. After dry firing and once ejected from the breech the flange or rim, on the casing end of the round, breaks off rendering them useless. I thought the packaging stated that they could be used ten times and with a semi. Maybe if you are using a revolver things would be different. Anyway I am dissatisfied with the product.

Only 10 dry fires?Oct 24, 2009
By Dolf Daam I have just received my snap caps and read on the package that each snap cap is good for about 10 dry fires, which makes a mockery of the product description. I have ordered the CSMC snap caps 22 Caliber Snap Caps which advertise "Have the ability to take over 5000 dry fires" and have a great review under the 9mm caliber.

Pachmyr ornage plastic snap capsApr 01, 2010
By Josh Hodge The caps are economical and the 24 packs is nice.
The caps worked great for checking function cycling ejection ect.
However whenever I tried to use them to dry fire the rim of the cap fell off after one firing pin impact.
Maybe I have an overly strong firing pin spring or something but I am not getting "ten dry fires".

Pachmayr 22Lr Snap Caps Don't Hold UpFeb 12, 2010
By David A. Vandenburgh
"dvdb"
They do fit in a magazine, and they do feed - sort of - into the chamber, but don't try snapping the hammer on these snap caps more than once or twice or they will disintegrate. A half dozen snaps and the snap cap was in pieces - pieces that had to be pulled out of the chamber, action, and magazine with forceps. A very disappointing product.
