You get what you pay forJun 10, 2009
By Danya This shelter is not bad for $40 but there are some significant drawbacks to it, and you may want to pony up the bucks for the Kelty or something else. I put it up for the first time today and immediately one of the pole clips snapped with barely any pressure. The first thing I noticed was the shock cords are absolutely too loose so the poles don't stay together well, so this was more of a hassle to put up than it should have been. The no-see-um window is a better idea than I thought it would be but badly sewn in and I suspect the zipper tabs will soon part ways. I still gave this a 4 because it's only $40 and I can see it will be functional despite these probs. Had I known though I might have gone with more quality.

Useful as a vestibule exptensionDec 12, 2010
By Jesse Jun I bought this shade to use it as a vestibule extension of my camping tent, that does not have one.
Shade is light weight and easy to put together.
The stake that came with this shade was too weak and easily bent. So, I use different stakes.
With proper seam sealing, this shade also did a good job in the rain: it kept the front of my tent dry during 24hr non-stop rain. So, I could do all the cooking under this shade.
Although I never used it for its designed purpose as an auto shade, it did a great job as a camping tent extension.
