I chose this over the commonly-mentioned Gerber E-tool, and I believe the Glock spade is a better design. It's substantially lighter, the shovel blade is free from obtrusion, the handle is more maneuverable, and it comes with a convenient saw. I keep this spade in the trunk of my car, and have used it on numerous occasions to clear snow.
I like the fact that the blade can be locked at several angles, and in my use, it has been sturdy and reliable.

search high and low, you won't find a better E-Tool. great for digging, chopping, and cutting roots. worth $40-$50. very handy to have while backpacking.
