5Great, comfortable, warm bag!Nov 11, 2006
By M. Leopard
I used this bag on a recent trip to Southern Missouri on a kayak & canoe trip. We were cold & wet coming off the river after an 11 mile trek - this bag warmed me up instantly once back at camp. The design is great - and it is very comfortable to slide into. While the temps that weekend did not approach 0 degrees - the indication of how warm the bag is came with how much I was sweating in it when I woke up in the middle of the night!! Great bag for the price!! Lightweight also!! I would buy again!!

I purchased this bag online because of Slumberjack's reputation for backpacker-friendly bags (and also the price). I get very cold at night and need a low temp bag even on pretty warm nights. I bought this for backpacking but this bag is so incredibly bulky that it will not fit into my backpack. I can't even tie it onto the outside. It seems warm, though. If you're planning on backpacking with this backpack, I would recommend something that stuffs MUCH smaller. I also own a Slumberjack Super Guide 30F bag and while I would never dream of sleeping in 30F degree weather with it (maybe 50F), it packs to an extremely small size. Anyway, while this is probably a nice bag for car camping, it is useless as a backpacking bag. It is just as bulky and heavy as any other regualr bag that you could pick up at Wal-mart.

5sleeping bagJan 07, 2009

Love the fact you can buy two (one right, one left zipper) and zipper them together; although it is hard to move around when zippered together, but definitely warmer. I get extremely cold so I still had to wear tons of layers while in the bag when temps were only about 30's. The bag also slips around on a tent floor b/c of the two materials (tent and bag) being similar; so putting something down between is a good idea... otherwise the bag may total flip over after changing positions a couple times in the night.

5great bag for kids or SHORT adultsOct 24, 2007
By Sean Bova "backpack-rat"
purchased this bag for my son who recently expressed interest in going on backpacking trips with me. Haven't taken it on any trips yet, though being the kid he is, we just HAD to set up the tent in the back yard a few nights (one of which got as low as 45) and not a single complaint from him. Though this is "rated" as a 0-deg, I question that at least a little... my marmot 0-deg and my North Face 20-deg appear to be more generously rated by comparison. That said, it doesn't really matter as I doubt I'd be taking the little one on any winter trips anyway... and by the time he's old enough for his first snowbird, he'll probably have outgrown this one anyway. Though with a liner or a cover/bivy, this could easily be a "true" 0-deg. I've had slumberjack bags before and they've never let me down yet... they're a very good entry-level to intermediate bag who makes a great product for the price... this bag is no different. seams, draft tube, storm collar, zippers and draw strings all adjust/operate as they should. The stuff sack seems durable, though I would have liked to see a compression-type stuff sack rather than the regular bag (though that's my complaint with most bags, so I guess most are in the same boat there)
I believe this is rated for a person up to 5'5" or 5'6"... that may be doable, but definitely pushing the limit. I had my wife (5'2") try it out, and it seemed to be approaching the "snug" category once she stretched out. I would consider a regular length bag if you're over 5'4" just to be safe.
Definitely a great kids bag that's a HUGE step up from the "play" type cartoon character bags... this is a REAL bag that just happens to be sized right for kids.
now hit the trail.

5Cold weather bag for youth, hobits and smaller adultsJun 01, 2007
By H. Anderson
This bag is a very affordable solution for cold weather camping for youth, Scouts, anyone in the 54" to 66" height range. The short bag is easier to warm up and still probably have room to stuff tomorrow's clothes in the bottom for a warm start on the day. My son has used this bag comfortably down to about 15 degrees on a Thermorest pad with thermals/socks/cap. Probably not a zero degree bag, but very good for the money at 15 degrees. Add a fleece liner if you need colder coverage.
