5Quite a knife for fighting or bringing down bears!!Mar 03, 2011
By Christopher G. Rose "thyrsus"
I am very happy with the quality of this knife. Its sub-hilt grip and its light weight make it an extension of the hand. The blade is long but not unwieldy. Of all the knives in my collection this would be one of my first choices in a knife fight.

But it is not a general purpose knife. It wouldn't make much sense to use it for camping or survival purposes. Cold Steel has a video of a guide in Africa using it to save a client who was being gored by a Cape Buffalo. I think it would be perfect for someone who thought they might have to defend themselves from man or beast. But it wouldn't be much use in field dressing an animal once it had been taken down.

4One of the best for the moneyDec 28, 2009
By Stephen H. Poor
Outstanding! Sharp on both edges, fast, good reach. The Kraton handle gives a sure grip, although I don't care for the sub-hilt. Some people like it, but I don't. Great sheath, too. The knife isn't as sharp as some of Cold Steel's more expensive models, but that's to be expected. Still the best fighting knife I've found for the money.

5Best around for the moneyNov 01, 2011
By Jack Brannan "barbqcatfishtaco"
Check out ltcspec.com or youtube for the video of the Cape buffalo being dispatched with this knife.
That should be enough said.
It is lightweight to carry on the belt, caution must be used when handling due to the double edge.
Knives are inheritantly dangerous, caution must be used with all knives, this one more so.
The lightweight makes it inheritantly fast.
It is hard, impossible for me, to find a bowie this size and quality with a sharpened clip point.
The double edge makes up for this,
the sub hilt handle design makes the knife easier to hold securely and withdraw more secure after use.
The kraton handle is great when wet, dry or with gloves.
I would love to see a better knife for this price range of $40 to $60
I know of none.
This is not a feild duty industractable knife
it is the best it is desgined for.

5Great Fighting KnifeNov 27, 2010
By K. R. Martin "Racecarguy7"
Another fine product from Cold Steel. I like the kraton handle, the sub-hilt adds to grip options. Is a sharp, double edged fighting knife that wont break the bank. I was lucky enough to find one for $40, at a local show, :) .
