A Kitchen Must HaveOct 27, 2008
By Chef Stacy
"Gluten Free and Allergy Friendly Confections"
There are several different configurations available for this type of product. This particular model has some features that the other reviews didn't mention, but were important in my decision to buy.
I bought the black, 46 blade model because of the safety feature. I knew I wanted a tenderizer with a lot of sharp blades, but I didn't want anyone to get hurt "playing" with it. Anyone who has kids understands that statement. This item has a lock position which, when engaged by simply turning the top, doesn't allow the floating bottom to rise exposing all those sharp blades. I could just see someone not familiar with this item getting curious, playing around and pushing it down against their hand. The lock is a very nice feature.
As I used this product, I came to appreciate it's shape. It fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, giving you great control even if you hands are wet from handling your food.
I highly recommend this to anyone who eats meat! Even on tender chicken breasts I use this to help even out the thickness of the breast. This doesn't tear the flesh like pounder type of tenderizers. The blades go all the way through thinner cuts shortening marinading times and helping to deliver flavor.
See my website for the recipe for Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner which uses you use this product.

Deni tenderizerOct 17, 2010
By Uncle dwight Bought a bunch of beef from an Amish store. Grass fed, all natural, organic. First steaks were so tough we couldn't believe it. Got on net and found this type of beef is tough because no homones and tenderizers and fat from feed in it, and that the solution was to tenderize it. Found the Deni tenderizer and did a sirlion and it was the difference between night and day. It absolute melted in one's mouth. Made a chicken used the unit on it and then marinated it in a butter marinate it was wonderful, butter was all through the meat. Great unit and was worth it and saved 256.00 in meat that I thought we'd never eat. And it is easy to use and clean (watch out it is sharp!) Can wash it in dishwasher, blades don't come out like in 19 blade model.

Handheld Meat TenderizerMay 26, 2010

This Deni Handheld Meat Tenderizer really does a great jo on tenderizing meat. It has a lock so that you don't get cut handling it. It is safe in the dishwasher and it a lot easier to use than trying to eat a steak into submission with a hammer type tenderizer. A definite necessity in my kitchen! Well worth the price.

Fantastically Easy!Feb 25, 2010
By M. Hull This is probably the best tenderizer that you will find! It is extremely sharp and cuts through the toughest meat with ease. I have used this on beef meat as well as game(ELK,Goose, etc) and those though meats are no match for the blades. Highly recommend!

Perfect for Duck!Jan 22, 2010
By Nancy S. Mckay If you like duck, you need this. You can make thousands of holes in the skin to drain the fat during steaming giving a crispy skin once it is roasted. Works well on individual duck breasts too.
