Fobus Roto Holster - Hi-Point .45 ACPSep 07, 2011
By mackie Where to begin.....I bought the Fobus Roto Paddle Holster, after reading a description somewhere on the web, that it fit Hi-Point .45 cal ACP Hand guns.I have to say it fit, and fit very tight, to the point that I couldn't withdrawl the weapon for presentation, but, the Fobus has a nice little feature on it, a screw on the outside of the holster, just below the trigger guard, to adjust the retention of the weapon (which made it a lot easier to withdrawl)The second feature I like about this holster, is it also has a screw adjustment to set the angle/position of your weapon. So if you like your weapon canted forward ( mag well facing up and slide vertical to the ground)or Backward( mag well facing down slide up and vertical to the ground) or any other position, it can be done, 360 degree (no, I don't carry my weapon like that, lmao, very unsafe). Now on to the big question: Comfort- The Fobus Roto, for me, is very comfortable to wear, mainly due to the fact that Fobus had the sense enough to put a piece of rubber on the paddle, when wearing, I put the paddle between my pants and under garment, and it stays there, I wouldn't suggest commando though, because if you sweat on the paddle, the rubber could cause a rub point ( although I did set it on bare skin, as I didn't realize it went between my under garment and me lol, so I left it there, and it was still comfortable) The only down side to this holster that I see, is the spacing for the belt, the spacing is enough for a patrol duty belt, but as for a normal, everyday wear belt, the spacing is to great (by that I mean there is 1/8 to 1/4 inch of space between the belt and the bottom set of rests that catch on the belt from under your pants, when drawling the weapon, the whole holster came out, so I pulled the belt tight, and adjusted the retention screw, and it worked much better, even though I couldn't breath, lmao. As for concealment, well for a full framed auto, it gets concealed,as well as it can, with an extra, extra, large shirt, or a jacket would work too, if its not hot outside. All in All, I like my Fobus Roto Paddle Holster. It is made in Israel, so I have to believe it has been used and tested in combat before, by Israeli military and spec ops. Good holster for the money, despite the few draw backs.
