Gravidyn FiltersDec 26, 2007
By Ralph Ware I live in a remote location where my only source of water is rain either captured from my roof or in my pond. I chose the Gravidyn filters for their ability to produce biologically safe and really good tasting drinking water. I can't emphasize the "really good tasting" part enough. The activated charcoal does a superb job. I change the filters twice a year and the cost is comparable to what I was spending on bulk bottled water in town. The big advantage for me is that I can make this water at home instead of making a weekly 50 mile round-trip.

Amazon suddenly stopped carrying this item.Nov 09, 2008

This is a fine product, but when my order arrived, one of the three filters was broken owing to a poor packing job. I contacted Amazon for a replacement was subsequently told that they were no longer carrying the item so I had to settle for a refund. Not very satisfactory.

excellent filterJul 16, 2007

If you saw the interior of the upper water chamber on this filter after six month's time, you would not regret money spent on the filter or replacements. There is a lot of rust and stuff from the old pipes in my building. The water certainly tastes better when it's filtered. I use this in an apartment, not in an extreme situation. Your mileage may differ.
This is a lot cheaper than buying 'bottled water' and much better for the environment, as well as for you.

Great filterMar 22, 2006
By H. Chang Great filter. Even filters pesticides (at least that's what an item description said) Be sure to check it when it arrives. One of ours was cracked when it arrived. Do not use if cracked. It was easily returned and we got a new one.

Seems good to the eye and tongueJul 01, 2011
By Yoder Katadyn drip filters are great for anyone living in a place with questionable water sources. Most of the water I have drunk in the last six months was filtered by one Katadyn drip filter or the other.
The water filtered with the Katadyn Gravidyn filter seemed clean as far as I can tell (without a microscope or any actual tests) clean, clear, and tasting pure.
