When his diving and whitewater friends pointed out the need for a greatly improved multipurpose fixed blade, he developed his custom A.B.C. (All Bases Covered) knife/sheath system. The CRKT production version is faithful to Jim's designs and priced to put it within reach of everyone who depends on a knife in or near the water. The blunt-tipped A.B.C. Aqua is designed to fill all the needs of the scuba diver and white water enthusiast in a single knife. The bottom hollow ground Razor-Sharp edge is suited to fine cutting tasks. The spine incorporates a Triple-PointTM Serrated edge ideal for rapid rough cutting through cord, nets, fishing line, kelp, and for safe release of whitewater entanglements. The blunt point won't pierce air compartments if accidentally dropped. It is also an indispensable work tool for swift water rescue teams, paramedics, and law enforcement. The blade is a full-tang skeletonized design of premium AUS 8 stainless steel. For maximum corrosion resistance, the steel is first mirror polished to close the pores, and then black titanium nitride coated. The finger choils are heavily friction grooved for sure grip. The A.B.C. Aqua comes with two sets of injection molded Zytel® scales, in black and high visibility yellow, both with an aggressive texture for grip. A tool is also included to allow you to quickly switch scales, which are held in place by corrosion resistant Torx® fasteners. The Zytel sheath with dual attachment panels and black stainless spring steel clip allows eight carry modes and countless variations. Black finish brass Chicago screws allow adjustment of the knife compression fit into the sheath. Equally important, they are used for a multitude of attachment orientations: on diving buoyancy compensators and pocket flaps, webbing, with dive leg straps, on PFDs, or with a neck cord. Strong. Great Dive KnifeDec 11, 2010

This is a great knife. Strong and sharp, has the flat tip for adjusting gauge screws. The Sheath is a little tight but fiddling with the screws can get it just right. Very visible with the yellow scales. I haven't used this in salt water yet so I can't say how resistant to rust it is, but as long as it is cleaned after use it should stay rust free.
good product, bad on shipping it!Jan 22, 2012
By Hatchet The CRKT A.B.C. knife is a great knife. I bought it to use during search and rescue operations. I have been a member of a Search and Rescue team for sometime now. I was looking for a knife that has a blunt tip (a must in rescue operations in my eyes), also wanted a knife that was fix blade with a good size blade. I mounted the knife to a leg rig. It is big enough for the tough tasks at hand, but not to big that it gets in the way, like most survival knifes.
The only down fall of it was the shipping time it took. It was well over 7 days like said it would take, more like 14 days.
