Description:

Kit Carson, designer of the M16 Series, became famous for his custom titanium frame M16s. True to Kit's custom design in all details, the production M16T models have been taken a step further with the addition of the patented Lake And Walker Knife Safety (LAWKS), which converts them into virtual fixed blades when engaged. The handles, which form the open-build frame, are CNC machined from 6AL4V titanium. The result is a better strength-to-weight ratio than steel or aluminum, and an almost indestructible frame. The titanium frame is minimally ceramic bead blast finished to enhance grip. The single 420J2 stainless steel locking liner with friction grooves provides positive locking. Blades are AUS 8 stainless steel, chosen for edge retention and durability, in non-reflective fine bead blast finish. This steel can handle the most rugged cutting tasks and still be field sharpened. Of course, the T models feature the signature "Carson Flipper" extension to the blade, which aids opening and acts as an additional blade guard. The slim profile M16-13T has a spear point blade, a very popular slender shape that is ideal for a variety of carry positions.One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth, the result of Teflon bearings at the blade pivot. The ambidextrous thumb stud with checkered surface provides instant access in any circumstance. Features a removable Teflon plated stainless steel clothing/gear clip. I carry this knife around with me in Iraq. A great fast opening knife to have for anything. It cuts very smoothly and is easy to carry around.

5No better test than the test of time.Feb 20, 2011
By SFC P.
I bought this knife in the Spring of 2003, when I first deployed to Baghdad, and it's still in my EDC rotation today. Granted, it's got it's scratches and is starting to develop a little bit of rust, but that's after the better part of a decade of heavy field use in all kinds of inclimate weather. Also, I've done virtually nothing to maintain it, aside from giving it the occasional sharpening. The knife opens as easily and as smoothly today as it did the very first time I flicked it open all those years ago, and I have NEVER EVER lubricated it in any way! This knife has paid for itself 10 times over in my case, and has made me a huge CRKT fan.

5Fantastic Work KnifeDec 08, 2010
By David
I bought this as a replacement for a similar CRKT knife that had a tanto style blade and made in AUS 6 steel. This is essentially the same knife with a spear tip blade in AUS 8 steel and the improvement is apparent.

Great value for the price. The knife is sharp, extremely solid and has the terrific CRKT features of the carson flipper one-hand opener and the LAWKS safety lock.

I use it as a work knife almost daily and i love it! I also would be very comfortable with it as a hunting knife, due to it's solid construction, quality steel, easy one-hand opening and the LAWKS safety mechanism. I'll let you know next season!

5AWESOME POCKET KNIFE!!!May 27, 2011
By GodsDunamis
I personally wouldn't have bought the knife for it's full resale value ($130), but for that much money I would never buy any knife that expensive. I'm glad I found this on amazon for just $70. Well worth the money in my opinion. When you carry it, you feel like the cool kid on the block, because everyone asks where you got the knife and where its from. You can just taste the envy from people who want one after seeing yours. ^^
It has a very sturdy feel to it. Perfect in weight, and doesn't feel cheap. VERY SOLID. Its looks are unparalleled with other knives. A true mans knife. Razor sharp, strong blade, and best of all, TITANIUM (gives it an awesome metallic blue color, and not that cheap aluminum color). the blade is perfect length for just day to day use (Don't expect to go on Man vs. Wild mode with this knife). If you're looking for a knife you can carry on you everywhere you go, then this is the one. Don't get the M-21's b.c they are BIG (I'm talking Rambo big).
I've had it for about a few months now and it's still hasn't needed sharpening. Can't imagine it failing on me anytime soon. This is def. a long term knife to have. Definitely no regrets here.

4Nice knifeFeb 16, 2011
By Xfitaddict
Nice knife. Very sharp as it should be. Opens very nicely, smooth action and fast when you use the back "flipper". Only complaint I have is that I prefer knives with the point pointed up in your pocket and this one points down. Just personal preference. Overall a real nice knife.
