This unit arrived with one channel dead. Only one channel has sound.
The power on/off-volume button and the treble/bass adjustment dials feel really cheap and very loose.
The headband frame is made of two thin stiff metal wire and feel sturdy. The Coolmax cover could be useful. We have extensive experience with Coolmax Extreme shirts in high heat conditions and found the material useful.
The metal headband metal wires end before the hinges at each cup. The hinges are made of plastic and previous experience with similar hinge makes us question its durability under heavy daily use especially when exposed to the sun and heat. The ear cups are made of plastics but seem to be well put together.
Fit is comfortable.
We had hoped to purchase it for extensive use on our farm when operating heavy equipment and when visiting a local gun range.
We will return this unit and look for another.
[ EDIT: After some juggling, the other channel sounded a loud beep and started working. So we have increased the ranking to 3 stars. We will keep it. ]
Sound quality of electronic mic at lowest db setting conveys surprisingly natural and realistic sound.
There is a hash at power-on and for some frequency, there is an added high frequency hash. Nothing irritating or damaging, just artificial.
Looks like we will keep it and use and check out its durability.

After trying a few different electronic earmuffs i tried the Radians Maximus but i got disappointed. They don't actually cancel any noise, they just amplify certain frequincies (voice) and any imput (eg iPod, 2 way radio etc)
I am considering going back to the brand i had before (Noisebuster) even though their muffs are very sensitive to moist and i went through 2 sets already.

I have tried several different brands and these are by far the BEST. Sound is very life-like and dampening works great. Good deal for the $$$.
