1You get what you pay forMay 13, 2009

I've seen my share of disappointing products, but rarely do I take time to write a review.
I bought this scope for my Ruger Mini-14. The optics were clear and bright, and after zeroing at 25 yards and then at 50 yards, all was well. I tried it at 100 yards and got a couple of 4-5 inch groups - not bad for a mini. But when I came back down to 50 yards, the group was 4 inches high. It was then that I noticed the problem: the reticle had broken loose inside the scope tube - the crosshairs were leaning at least 15 degrees to the left. If the crosshairs are loose, just floating in the tube, I can't trust them. The scope is useless to me now.
It only took 40 rounds of .223 for this Simmons Blazer scope to break. At today's prices, that's almost $20 in wasted ammo, plus the price of the scope and shipping. The scope is so cheap that it's probably not worth the freight charges to send back to Simmons and have them fix it. It's a $60 lesson (wouldn't it be nice if all life lessons were so reasonably priced?) - you get what you pay for. This experience tells me that it's not a $130 scope marked down to $35 - it's just a $35 scope.

I was excited to see this on sale! That a hundred and something scope was $39 and something! WoW! Then I had to pay Shipping( They have no shipping agreement w/ Amazon, so my upgraded membership meant nothing) and then I waited...., and waited..., UPS GROUND??? C'mon guys USPS flat rate box and I have it in 2 days WORKS. And Then, I finally get it. The OPTICS TOTALLY DRAW A VACUUM!! CAN YOU SAY FUZZY?? I'm not happy, to say the least.

It's a great little scope, especially for the price. It should make varmint hunting a whole lot easier. It's repeatability is right on and the purchase went flawlessly.

For the $50 price tag I paid, this was an AWSOME DEAL. Zoom is wonderful, good focus as well. Seems to be an all around quality product.

Received this scope very quigkly. It was well packaged and as advertised. I had it mounted on my new muzzleloader at my local gun shop. They confirmed that it was a high quality product and at a bargain price.

Thank you amazon for the great service. I will continue to be a customer for a long time.
