Description:

The QR Mount promises repeatable accuracy. Super-close machining tolerances are at the heart of this patented lever mechanism. By turning the lever forward, an eccentric on the lever shaft engages the base of the ring. This pulls the ring down and forward on the base, locking it solidly into its "zero" position.

I am extremely picky on my scope, bases' and rings. When I was young I got what I could afford. After a few of life's lessons, I realized these these items are much more important than the quality of the rifle.
My preference are Leupold one piece bases and standard rings. Two piece bases can be misaligned. Quick Release Rings (QR) can have their attachment levers knocked loose and you are trusting that each time you put the scope in, that it will be %100 percent aligned... Something I have a little trouble with, because of Murphy's Law.
The only reasons I got the mounts was because I got a browning Barr Long Track .270 and a Nikon Monarch 1-4x20 scope for hunting the Rain Forests of the Alaskan Coast, and most of my shots will be within 100' and I cannot stand mixing Matte with Gloss. The rifle is digital camouflage and what few metal parts are not digital are Matte. I could not find any quality bases in Matte. All of the bases were Gloss. I cannot stand it when people mix Matte and Gloss. Matte and Silver or Gloss and Silver look good together, but not Matte and Gloss.
I figured with the mounts being QR, it would not impact me much since my shots will be mostly close range. Plus I did not plan to remove my scope, even though Leupold advertises that you can.
Boys will be boys, so I ordered another set of rings for a higher power scope. Hmm... Both are zeroed into the rifle and both perform as advertised. Yes they do go back and forth and yes it will keep it's zero. I am impressed. I have not seen any walking on the mounts yet, but she is still new.
My jury of one is still out on long range shots with the QR mounts/rings. Everything seems to work as advertised. But..., I have only had the bases for a little while. Once I use them for a year or two, I will re-visit this review and put in a seasoned opinion.
