By azgunrunner i went through 3 fake harris type bipods that all fell apart from stripped screws or s&^t parts. Finally, i decided that i want a proven bipod, which is notorious for being the best. Harris is that. its a solid feel, there are no jiggling parts. perfect for my rem 700 .308

RecommendJul 19, 2011
By Tom Berenger After getting two cheap bipods from Amazon and having them literally fall apart in my hands I decided to hazard a name brand. Overall the build quality and finish are excellent. It performs all it claims and installs in seconds. I had to take a star away due to the arm adjustment system. I prefer the type my cheapies had wherein depressing the clamp deployed the spring-loaded arms, releasing it locked the arms. With this bipod you have to turn a screw-head, manually adjust the arms, then re-tighten it. Overall it's very nice, but like it's recommended usage advises, it should only be used on a bench rest or at the range, not for hunting or MIL/LE/GOV.

(5/5) Works Well!Apr 04, 2012
By T. Ho Like others before me who reviewed this bipod, I also went through a few cheap bipods before hand hoping to save money. In the end, I ultimately bought this bipod which works very well with my AR-15 and Rem 700. This 6 to 9 inch bipod works great at the bench rest and on the floor.
Pro(s): - Very sturdy (this bipod NEVER "accidentally" collapsed even when shooting .308's) - Easy to adjust (stays between 6" to 9"; quick snap at 6" and 9") - Fast retraction - Minimal maintenance if any at all - Minimal slippage at the base (rubberized base tips) - Easy to install (will require an adapter if your rifle does not have a swivel sling stud; e.g. AR-15's)
Con(s): - After shooting for a while (over a year now with this bipod), the tightening screw will begin to loosen as you shoot (I address a fix for this below)
Note(s): - Made in the USA - Harris Engineering also makes a swiveling bipod (Harris Engineering S-BRM Hinged Base 6 - 9-Inch BiPod)
Suggestion(s)/Recommendation(s): - Regarding the con of this bipod where the bottom tightening screw gets loose after a while, I simply applied a small drop of Henkel Corp 209728 Loctite Blue Threadlocker or Permatex 24200 Threadlocker Blue to create some resistance on the screw's threads. After letting it dry, I went to the range and I find that it stays on quite well and I can still unscrew it if I want to. - Just like any bipod with spring tension, be careful not to keep your fingers near the hinges or springs as it will pinch you severely

Good product for the priceJul 05, 2011
By usmc82 This is an excellent small bipod that will fit securely on most rifles equipped with a sling swivel stud. It fits securely (adjustable tension), attaches easily and removes just as easily; I bought it with the idea of leaving it attached to one rifle but I have moved it back and forth between three. I recommend checking the height you want and ensure you get the right size, though. This is perfect for most rifles and most bench rest firing points.
