buck special with cocoboloJun 22, 2011
By gmanoutdoors This is a very special knife. It is made in the USA and is as beautiful to look at as it is functional. The blade is very sharp and the design is classic buck. Brown leather sheath is handsome and easy to use. Great product! Great price.

Very classy knifeNov 06, 2011
By Wyoming I have had the Standard black Phenolic Handle 119 for the last 20 years or so and it has never let me down whether opening my mail or dressing out large game. I received this one as a gift I was very excited, it is the same familiar friend but with a much nicer look than the standard model. The wood although not real Cocobolo is a very nice red laminated hardwood in a Cocobolo color which is much more durable and impervious to the elements than a pure exotic wood handle would be. The edge is razor sharp and the knife is very well ground and nicely proportioned. It is a little heavier in the handle than the standard model so the rearward balance is different than I am used to but if I wasn't comparing them side by side I wouldn't notice and it certainly is not a complaint just an observation. The brownish red leather sheath is also a very nice change from the boring black of the standard version. I have only just begun my time with this new Buck but it has the promise of being a very good tool for years to come. It held its factory edge for a very long time cutting up boxes and doing some yard chores. It was very easy to freshen up the edge before it got dull on my Spyderco Tri-angle ceramic sticks and with a few passes it was razor sharp again. I have many knives which cost much more than this Buck but which don't cut as well or as long. A very good tool for those wanting a little more bling for their Buck.
